Antigua Guatamala is known as the best-preserved Spanish colonial city in Central America. Stroll the cobblestone streets, lounge with the locals in Central Park on sunny afternoons or hike up one of the volcanoes overlooking the city for amazing views. -Trip Advisor
The truth is that even us, the locals, have a great time visiting this colonial city. As a Guatemalan, I assure that every time I go I just wish I lived in Antigua.
It is here where it all began, where I became inspired by the ruins and the cobbled-stone streets. This place is full of mirth, and yet, it holds in its memories remnants from the past, both scary and passionate.
A destroyed city, that in spite of being a ruin, it somehow grows in you, making you fall in love with this place, to think about it, linger with its many visions. If you ever walk around at night, you may just get haunted by ghosts and many other spirits that lurk this ruined city.
I found inspiration while sitting in a Coffee Bar, just outside the Central Park. Visitors buying goods, children playing around, and that constant, ever present sentiment of solitude and deep cavernous walls holding distant memories, were some of the pearls that inspired the origins of Despondency.
